A Library Designed for an International Academic Community

A university library is more than a collection of books. It is a place where ideas develop, research begins, and students connect more deeply with their academic journey. At Touro Berlin, the Szloma Albam Library supports the needs of students, faculty, and academics within the university’s international community by providing access to a wide range of library services both on campus and online.

As part of Touro University Berlin, a campus of Touro University New York, the library reflects the university’s commitment to academic excellence, research, and student support.

A Modern Academic Resource Center

The Szloma Albam Library combines a modern working library with digital academic resources. The campus collection includes textbook and reference literature organized through systematic open-access shelving, allowing students to easily explore materials connected to their studies.

In addition to physical resources, students have access to the Touro Berlin Databases through the Virtual Library of Touro University Libraries, extending academic research opportunities beyond the campus itself. Together, these resources create a learning environment designed to support students throughout their academic development.

Supporting Study and Research

Academic Materials Connected to Touro Berlin Programs

The library holdings are designed to support the courses and curriculum topics offered at Touro Berlin. These academic resources provide a foundation for students’ studies and research activities on campus, helping them develop their knowledge through reliable academic materials.

Whether students are working on assignments, preparing projects, or conducting research, the library provides an important space for academic growth.

Physical Collections and Study Spaces

A Campus Library With Around 10,000 Volumes

The main library is located on the first floor of the Main Building / House 1 at Touro Berlin.

Its physical book collection includes approximately 10,000 volumes, available across the Main Building and additional rooms in House 3.

The library also provides reading spaces and study areas equipped with networked PCs, creating a dedicated environment where students can focus, research, and learn.

Online Academic Databases

Expanding Access Beyond the Campus

Alongside the Touro University Virtual Library resources, Touro Berlin provides access to additional academic databases. These include: Statista – The Statistics Portal for Market Data, Market Research, and Market Studies National Socialism, Holocaust, Resistance and Exile 1933–1945

Students seeking access can contact the campus librarian for support. These resources expand research possibilities and provide valuable academic information for different fields of study.

The History of the Szloma Albam Library

Growing With Touro Berlin

The Campus Library opened in 2004, shortly after Touro Berlin began its academic journey.

Since 2006, the Henry Marx Collection of the Lander Institute for the Communication of the Holocaust and Tolerance has been added and further developed.

This development reflects the connection between the library, academic research, and Touro Berlin’s educational mission.

A Space Built on Respect and Academic Values

Library Code of Conduct

The Szloma Albam Library aims to provide a safe, secure, and appropriate study environment for all users. The library’s Code of Conduct establishes the rules and guidelines expected from everyone using its services and facilities.

These standards help maintain a respectful academic space where students and faculty can focus on learning, research, and intellectual development.
