studied history and law at the University of Bonn and at the University of Adelaide in Australia. He received his doctorate from the University of Bonn. While serving as a law clerk for his final degree, he worked at the International Court of Justice in The Hague. He is in private practice in Berlin, specializing in criminal law. His research interests are international law and international justice.
