is the founder and, since 2005, the dean of our graduate program in Holocaust Communication and Tolerance. After receiving his PhD at the Free University, he worked at Ruhr University in Bochum. Since 1994, he has served as executive director of the Topography of Terror Documentation Center. In 1987, he participated in coordinating the citywide activities celebrating the 750th anniversary of the city of Berlin. Between 1997 and 2001, he was the president of the Berlin Jewish community. He has published extensively on topics of Jewish history and also serves as the volunteer rabbi for the Hüttenweg congregation in Berlin.
