Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Touro College was established over thirty years ago to pioneer a new concept in American education: Its primary aim is to imbue the lives of contemporary students with a sense of meaning and purpose based on the Maimonidean ideal of intellectual and moral achievement.

Touro College derives its name from Isaak Touro and his son Judah, Jewish community leaders and philanthropists in Colonial America. It blends together the best of Jewish and secular scholarship in an atmosphere of personal attention.

Touro is concerned with renewing the experiences of the ancient academies which stressed an individualized learning experience in a personalized faculty-student relationship. In a world in which students and adults are enmeshed in a social system that treats them as serial numbers and computer cards, Touro offers a student-focused college where personal growth and individual excellence become a primary objective.

Our concept is evident by how we have grown not only in America but also worldwide. Today Touro College has campuses in Europe, Israel and in the United States of America. Students are seeking the opportunities that Touro offers, a first-class education and the international network that enables them to succeed in their lives all over the world.
